About The Superior Labor:

Founded by former auto mechanic and leather artisan Makoto Kawai, this lifestyle brand crafts a variety of high-quality everyday tools that promote slow and intentional living. Kawai considers The Superior Labor as a natural extension of his experience working with cars, crafting leather goods, traveling, and curating vintage wares. All of The Superior Labors design and manufacturing takes place in a former elementary school campus in the rural and mountainous area of Kaga-gun, Okayama Prefecture, where Kawai lives and works. Called nap village, it welcomes visitors to come and experience The Superior Labors living and crafting philosophy while exploring the wonderful nature of Mount Hongu.
